Children’s Parade in Brighton

Children’s parade in Brighton

On Saturday, May 3, 2025, Brighton once again became the vibrant stage for one of the most heartwarming and inspiring events of the year: the Children’s Parade. This annual parade, organized by Same Sky, traditionally kicks off the Brighton Festival and has evolved into a cherished celebration of creativity, collaboration, and community spirit.

2025 Theme: Our Planet, Our Future

This year’s theme, “Our Planet, Our Future”, placed sustainability, climate awareness, and environmental education at the forefront. Hundreds of primary schools and community groups participated, crafting costumes, giant puppets, and mobile artworks made from recycled materials, all while considering their ecological footprint. From papier-mâché whales to cardboard forests and children dressed as bees, the streets of Brighton came alive with joyful colors and powerful messages about protecting our planet. Each group interpreted the theme in its own unique way, using art to advocate against ocean plastic, support biodiversity, promote climate action, and emphasize the importance of a cleaner, greener future.

Colorful, creative, and conscious

A celebration of collective action

What makes the Children’s Parade truly special is not just the artistic expression but also the collective effort behind it. In the weeks leading up to the event, classrooms transformed into workshops where local artists guided children in turning their ideas into reality. It’s this community effort – rooted in imagination and shared purpose, that leaves a lasting impact. Families, educators, artists, and volunteers all play vital roles. While the parade is a moment of joy, it also sparks crucial conversations: How do we care for the earth? What does the next generation expect from us? How can creativity drive change?

How BINBIN views the Children’s Parade

At BINBIN, we are inspired by initiatives like the Children’s Parade that seamlessly blend awareness, education, and art, especially in the realm of sustainability. Events like this demonstrate that even the youngest voices can carry impactful messages. When children parade for the planet, they’re not just having fun, they’re leading by example. As a company committed to circular solutions and waste reduction, we believe in starting the conversation early. The Children’s Parade brilliantly exemplifies how local actions can ignite global thinking. We feel hopeful when we see young people stepping forward with enthusiasm, imagination, and a genuine concern for the earth. Let’s keep listening to them, and together, let’s build a cleaner future.
